World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly

Theme: “His mercy is from age to age (Luke1:50) – God’s mercy is seen throughout history and remembered by the testimonies of those who pass it on to their children and grandchildren. Grandparents and the elderly fill this role, but they are also called to receive God’s mercy, remembering that God is always with them.

This special day is to show care gratitude and affection for grandparents and the elderly and to help them feel part of our Christian family and our history. They too can share their faith and hope with younger people which can help society to recognize the value of the elderly.
