Altar ServersAltar Servers

This ministry encourages young people to become active in the Eucharistic Celebration, and inspires them to serve God and their Parish Community. Servers go through training when they sign up, and take responsibility to follow a schedule. Children in grades 3 and higher who have received their First Communion are invited to help in this important ministry.

Adult Altar Servers

Just as with our young people, adults are also invited to serve at weekend Masses. Training is provided and a schedule is followed.  Adults and youth do not serve at the same liturgy. This is a beautiful way for adults to get involved in the Mass!

Children’s Liturgy

Children from age 3 to 8 are welcome to join us at the 9:00 am Sunday Mass for their own Liturgy of the Word. Each Sunday children listen to their own version of the Gospel, and do activities based on the Scripture’s theme. Adults are encouraged to help lead and assist in this ministry, especially parents, guardians and grandparents of children participating in the program.

Church Décor

On a weekly basis, this ministry involves arranging and caring for the flowers in the church. Throughout the year it also involves decorating for the various Liturgical Seasons (such as Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter) and for important public dates (such as Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day). Our creative volunteers ensure we have a beautiful and symbolic place to worship.

Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (at Mass)Holy Communion at Mass

Eucharistic Ministers share the Body and Blood of Christ with the community. This beautiful ministry of service cultivates a profound relationship between Christ in the Eucharist and the people of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Gift Bearers

All parishioners are invited to assist at the celebration of the Eucharist by bringing to the Altar the gifts of Bread and Wine at the Lord’s Day Masses (Saturdays and Sundays). This ministry is open to children, teens and adults, family and friend teams. Members of the ministry follow a schedule, but all parishioners are welcome to Bear the Gifts at particular Masses which have special significance for them (birthdays, anniversaries, in memory of loved ones). Call the Parish Office to volunteer.

Hospitality Ministers (Ushers)

This ministry gives devotion to God by assisting both clergy and parishioners during Holy Mass. Responsibilities include greeting parishioners and visitors, arranging seating, taking up the collection, assisting in the orderly reception of Communion, distributing bulletins and aiding others in the case of an emergency. Come be a welcoming presence in our Parish Community!

LectorsLectionary

Lectors are called to grow in faith through the wisdom of Scripture, and to proclaim the Word of the Lord to God’s people. Communicating the emotional, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of the passages requires our Lectors to be confident and thoughtful public speakers. Help us to proclaim the Good News at Mass.
