The season of Lent is a time of preparation, a time to repent from our sins and turn back to God, a time to deepen our relationship with God through Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving.
At St. Francis of Assisi Parish we are striving to offer many ways for all our parishioners to have a blessed and fruitful Lent. Below are some of the activities we are offering. If you have any questions please contact us, we are happy to hear from you!
Celebrating the Word
Celebrating the Word is a weekly small group resource created by the Congregation of the Resurrection which reflects on the Sunday readings and how they apply to our lives. Before the pandemic we had a group meeting each Monday evening to discuss the readings for next week and how they apply to our lives. This Lent we invite you to a join us on Zoom Monday evenings at 7pm for about an hour. Please email or call the parish office to register.

Lent Homilies
Lenten Retreat
On Saturday March 6th, Fr. Raphael Ma, CR led an online Lenten Retreat entitled If You Know the Gift of God. For those who were unable to attend we gathered Fr. Raphael’s suggestions for how to prepare for retreat, as well as the two Reflection videos, into one video which you can use to have your own mini retreat at home. We hope this resource helps you on your Lenten journey.
Stations of the Cross
We invite you to pray the Stations of the Cross using the videos below. Each Friday a new video will pop up on the main page of our website, each a different version of the Stations, each led by different members of our parish. You can see past Stations of the Cross videos below.
Share Lent
This year Development and Peace invites us to
Share Love – Share Lent!
Learn more about the campaign in this video.
There are so many ways we can Share Love this Lent. This year’s Solidarity Calendar is online with so many activities and events to participate in. You can also print a copy for your fridge to remind you what’s happening!
For your kids there is a great bulletin to print out with activities to help them Share Love. You can also print a label to create your own Solidarity Jar and encourage everyone to contribute to it throughout Lent.
