Parish Team

Allow us to introduce you to the Parish Team at St. Francis of Assisi:

Fr. Murray McDermott, C.R. ~ Pastor

Our current Pastor is Fr. Murray McDermott, C.R., formerly the Provincial Superior of the Ontario-Kentucky Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection. Fr. Murray is a man of deep faith and compassion for all. He has worked with the Children’s Aid Society and the community of Larche for many years, but St. Francis is his first assignment as Pastor!  We are blessed to have Fr. Murray as our shepherd and we look forward to many dynamic and faith-filled years with him.

Fr. Stanley Zaryczny, C.R. ~ Associate Pastor (Wikariusz)

On June 30, 2021, we welcomed our fellow Resurrectionist Priest, Fr. Stan Zaryczny C.R. to St. Francis of Assisi Parish.  Fr. Stan was born in Poland.  He was ordained on May 12, 1994 and after serving in a few parishes in Poland Fr. Stan came to Canada on Feb.17, 1999, and has ministered in various parishes since then. He is a full member of our Ontario Kentucky Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection and celebrated his 25th Jubilee of priesthood in 2019. We welcome Fr. Stan to St. Francis and  look forward to his ministry with us here!

Fr. Raphael Ma, C.R. ~ Priest in Residence (住宿)

Fr. Raphael joined our parish team in May of 2018 as a seminarian and was ordained on June 15, 2019!  On July 1, 2021 Fr. Raph became the Vocations Director for the Congregation of the Resurrection. He will continue living and helping out at St. Francis Parish while he takes on this new role. May his time with us be fulfilling for the parish and Fr. Raphael, and may he be abundantly blessed as he lives out his vocation.

Mr. Doug Currie ~ Assistant to Building Manager

Doug is the newest member of our parish team and his eagerness to help however he can is making Gary’s work much easier. Say hi to Doug if you see him cleaning, working on the grounds, or cheering for the Leafs. Welcome to the team Doug!

Miss Ruthann Fisher ~ Parish Minister

Ruthann has been with St. Francis Parish for over 25 years, so her vocation has evolved over her time with us. She currently coordinates our Sacrament Preparation Programs, oversees our Youth Ministry, assists at most Masses, presides at Liturgies and Funeral Vigils, and so much more.

Mr. Gary Howell ~ Building Manager

Gary retired from teaching only to take on the care and maintenance of St. Francis Church and her grounds. Gary’s care extends to how he works with David and Doug; he values them and their work, so they can fulfill their jobs in a meaningful way. Gary’s dedication to our parish community means our Space is kept truly Sacred.

Mrs. Terrianne Moulton ~ Director of Music Ministry

Terrianne is our resident maestro! In grade 7, Fr. Clarence Hauser gave her the keys to St. Aloysius church so she could practice on the organ, and she continued as music minister there for 35 years. Now, she turns her talents to making amazing musical selections and playing both the organ and keyboard at all of our liturgies, as well as encouraging our fabulous choir community to make beautiful music unto the Lord.

Mr. Doug O’Farrell ~ Assistant to Administration

Doug’s love for St. Francis Parish and his steadfast faith make him a wonderful assistant in the parish office, especially in preparing the bulletin for each Sunday. He also helps Gary take care of our church and property, all with a great sense of humour! Doug responds kindly and enthusiastically whenever and wherever he is asked to help out.

Ms. Alice Soeder ~ Administrative Assistant

Alice works in the Parish Office from Monday-Friday each week. She prepares our weekly Bulletin, designs and manages the Parish Website, handles the Finances and Diocesan Reports, and supports the efforts of the Parish Team in various ways.

Mrs. Anna Szabo ~ Housekeeper

Anna is a faithful and active member of the St. Francis Parish Community, and participates in various ministries in the church. Anna efficiently and faithfully cares for the Rectory and Offices, and provides support to our entire Parish Team.
