POPE FRANCIS HAS CALLED FOR MARCH 2ND, ASH WEDNESDAY, to be a day of prayer and fasting for Ukraine. Because it is Ash Wednesday, we already follow the practice of prayer, fasting, and abstinence. So the Pope’s call can be met with a strong response from Catholics world-wide.
ASH WEDNESDAY MASSES at St. Francis of Assisi:
9:00 am & 7:00 pm
No registration Required
If you are unable or reticent to return to Mass “in person” at this time, please watch the pre-taped Liturgy of the Word for Ash Wednesday, with Bishop Wayne Lobsinger presiding at St. Ann Parish, Ancaster (see below).
ROSARY FOR PEACE
Here at St. Francis of Assisi Parish the Rosary will be prayed Tuesday to Friday, at 8:40 A.M. before our daily morning masses during the week, for the people of the Ukraine and for Peace in our World. On Ash Wednesday you are also invited to join with Development and Peace for an online vigil for Ukraine. They will pray the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary, and will share a video message from Caritas Ukraine, their counterparts who continue to serve those in need in Ukraine. You can register for this vigil by clicking the button below. Let us pray fervently for our suffering sisters and brothers in Ukraine.
