For the Love of Creation Symposium

For the Love of Creation Fall Symposium

Saturday, October 30
11-5 pm ET
(8 am PT | 9 am MT | 10 am CT | 11 am ET | 12 pm AT | 12:30 pm NT)

For the Love of Creation invites Canadian faith communities and faith-based organizations to come together to mobilize education, reflection, action and advocacy for climate justice. This gathering will mark a key moment in the For the Love of Creation (FLC) journey, in Canada’s climate plan, and in global climate action as we engage with the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) in November.

You will hear the collective theological reflections in the Letter of the Faithful, a grassroots pastoral epistle for faith communities and to wider society. The Letter lays out concerns, challenges, and possible actions we, collectively, can advocate for as faithful responses to climate change. We will learn about how the FLC advocacy goals have evolved and where we plan to prioritize advocacy efforts in the year head. You will have an opportunity to meet with other people of faith in your region and engage with faith leaders, theologians, climate organizers, and more including:

  • Sister Eva Solomon, csj
  • Councillor Christine Boyle, Vancouver City Council
  • Dr. Sylvia Keesmaat
  • Dr. David K. Goodin
  • Mueni Mutinda, Canadian Foodgrains Bank
  • Jennifer Preston, Canadian Friends Service Committee (Quakers)
  • and more!
