Laudato Si’ Week – Day 2

A Letter to Humanity

Encyclical is a fancy name for a letter to all of humanity, so Pope Francis’ letter, Laudato Si’, was written not just for the bishops, priests and religious of the world, but to all people. He wrote it to all people because he knows that we all have something important to say, we all can make a difference, particularly when it comes to Caring for our Common Home.  We need everyone in the world to care together in order to make change.

Today we invite you and your family to write a letter to humanity.  There is a video clip below which can help you through the process.  If you have very young children you may prefer to watch this clip first as it is geared more to our youngest difference makers!

If you wish to share your letters with the St. Francis community you are welcome to send them to the parish email ( and we will post them to our website next week. Happy letter writing!
