oneROOF Youth Services is committed to providing for the safety, support and overall well-being of youth who are experiencing homelessness, and youth who are at-risk of homelessness inWaterloo Region.
One of the ways they do this is through Host Homes, a prevention and diversion program, where people in the community welcome youth aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness into their own homes for a temporary stay. Host Homes provide a safe place for at-risk youth to “land,” giving them and Host Homes staff the time needed to sort through the barriers that led the youth to homelessness.
oneROOF is currently looking for more Host Homes and reached out to the St. Francis community to invite anyone interested to learn more about the program.
