Allow us to introduce you to the Parish Team at St. Francis of Assisi:

Fr. Paul Voisin, C.R. ~ Pastor

Fr. Paul S. Voisin, C.R., was ordained to the Priesthood on May 14, 1977. His first pastoral assignment was Associate Pastor, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Kitchener.  From August 1983 until April 1996 Fr. Paul was assigned to the Resurrectionist Bolivian Missions.  He served as Associate Pastor, and later Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, La Paz.  For three years he lived in Cochabamba as Director of Formation for Resurrectionist seminarians.  For five years he was General Director of ‘Colegio St. Andrew’s’ a K-12 Catholic school in La Paz.  After a sabbatical year at Regis College, Toronto, Fr. Paul became Pastor of the Hispanic Catholic Communities of Waterloo, Wellington and Brant counties for three years.  In November 2000 he was named Pastor of St. Francis Parish, Kitchener.  On March 1, 2005 he began to serve as Provincial Superior of the Ontario-Kentucky Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection.  In August 2008 he was assigned as Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish in Bermuda and Vicar General of the Diocese.  In August 2012 he became the Rector of St. Theresa’s Cathedral.  On June 15, 2017, he was elected and installed as Superior General of the Congregation of the Resurrection in Rome, Italy, serving the Resurrectionists in eleven countries.  On January 1, 2024 he became Pastor of St. Francis Parish in Kitchener.

Fr. Murray McDermott, C.R. ~ Priest in Residence

Our current Pastor is Fr. Murray McDermott, C.R., formerly the Provincial Superior of the Ontario-Kentucky Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection. Fr. Murray is a man of deep faith and compassion for all. He has worked with the Children’s Aid Society and the community of Larche for many years, but St. Francis is his first assignment as Pastor!  We are blessed to have Fr. Murray as our shepherd and we look forward to many dynamic and faith-filled years with him.

Mrs. Lei Ann Wade ~ Parish Minister

Lei Ann co-ordinates our sacramental programs, oversees various liturgical ministries, assists at masses, presides at liturgies and funeral vigils, is the liaison with St. Paul and St. Bernadette School, and so much more.

Gary retired from teaching only to take on the care and maintenance of St. Francis Church and her grounds. Gary’s care extends to how he works with Doug; he values him and his work, so he can fulfill his job in a meaningful way. Gary’s dedication to our parish community means our Space is kept truly Sacred.

Mrs. Terrianne Moulton ~ Director of Music Ministry

Terrianne

Terrianne is our resident maestro! In grade 7, Fr. Clarence Hauser gave her the keys to St. Aloysius church so she could practice on the organ, and she continued as music minister there for 35 years. Now, she turns her talents to making amazing musical selections and playing both the organ and keyboard at all of our liturgies, as well as encouraging our fabulous choir community to make beautiful music unto the Lord.

Mr. Doug O’Farrell ~ Assistant to Administration

Doug

Doug’s love for St. Francis Parish and his steadfast faith make him a wonderful assistant in the parish office, especially in preparing the bulletin for each Sunday. He also helps Gary take care of our church and property, all with a great sense of humour! Doug responds kindly and enthusiastically whenever and wherever he is asked to help out.

Mrs. Amanda Michaels~ Administrative Assistant

Amanda works in the Parish Office from Monday-Friday each week. She prepares our weekly Bulletin, designs and manages the Parish Website, handles the Finances and Diocesan Reports, and supports the efforts of the Parish Team in various ways.

Mrs. Anna Szabo ~ Housekeeper

Anna

Anna is a faithful and active member of the St. Francis Parish Community, and participates in various ministries in the church. Anna efficiently and faithfully cares for the Rectory and Offices, and provides support to our entire Parish Team.
